Anatole
C. Matulis is a physician, scientist, poet,
writer and teacher. Born in Lithuania, he
served in the United States Air Force, and
after earning a Ph.D. in German Language
and Literature from Michigan State University,
became Chairman of the Modern Languages Department
at Purdue University's Regional Campuses.
Later, he was Associate Professor of Communication
at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay.
Dr. Matulis also holds a Ph.D. in clinical
psychology from the International College
in Los Angeles, and an M.D. from the American
University of the Caribbean, School of Medicine,
Montserrat, British West Indies.
His
published works include: “Patterns
in Time: A Voyage (Volumes 1 & 2)”; “Language...
A Hope: An Introduction to Metaglossotherapy”;
contributor to “Psycholinguistics
in Clinical Practice; Lithuanian Culture
in Modern German Prose Literature”;
and numerous articles and reviews on
subjects ranging from aphasia to Lithuanian
folk songs.
Dr.
Matulis founded the National Research Institute
for Neurology and Psychotherapy (NRINP) in 1976.
The Institute is dedicated to exploring and bettering
the human condition. To that end, it is involved
in original research in the areas of neurology,
psychology, psychoanalysis and psychiatry. The
work of the Institute is directed toward expanding
new frontiers of knowledge and furthering understanding
of mental health and behavior. Current activities
include the development of new procedures in the
treatment of aphasia and research regarding the
hemispheric divisions of the human brain, Alzheimer's
disease, and Gilles de la Tourette's syndrome.
The Institute (non-profit and tax-exempt), also
publishes worthwhile works in the sciences and
humanities.
